Automated Pounding Machine

An innovative solution to modernize the traditional African method of pounding food items such as yam. It automates the labor-intensive process traditionally performed with a mortar and pestle, significantly reducing physical effort and time.
The design was awarded 1st place at the 37th Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ competition for its innovative approach to sustainable solution in food production (2025).
